Natural History Museum and Posh

I've been wanting to go the the Natural History Museum for quite some time now. Diego and I went on a Saturday. They had an exhibit called "Collapse" which I thought would be relevant to what I was teaching my kids in school. I told them to go, but no one but me went. That's okay, though, because it wasn't all that good anways.

We went to watch tarantulas being fed, and Diego let this little boy sit in front of him. His mom said thank you, and Diego pointed out that she was an actress. She is the girl from Big Mama's House (?) and Are We There Yet. I think she's really pretty. Diego got her autograph for me.

Afterwards, Diego took me to Posh, a restaurant that I have been wanting to try. We shared the "famous" Latina burger and a Cuban sandwich and banana chips/fries. The Latina burger was so-so. It tasted like a taco, but it was a hamburger. The banana chips were not a hit. However, the Cuban sandwich was rather good. When we finished, we had a tres leches cake, and that was excellent! I recommend the cake to anyone. Diego loved it, and since it's his favorite kind of cake, I trust his judgement.

New Year's Dinner

This year, New Year's seemed to be low key for everyone. I decided to host a dinner party. Originally, I planned to have people chip in for food, etc., because I'm entirely broke at the moment. Everyone agreed to help out. However, by the end of the night, only Jenn gave me money (thank you Jenn!).

Since it was a bit last minute, people's plans kept changing. Between 8 and 15 people were to show up, but in the end, there were only 6 of us. Yet, as Jenn kept saying, the ones that showed were the only ones that mattered. I had a lot of food left over, however, so that was the only
downside.
