Annual Christmas Party

So I went to to annual Christmas party this year. I missed it last year. I forget why. I brought Diego, and also invited Eddie. Eddie actually showed up before I did. He felt weird about it, especially since I didn't tell anyone he was coming. However, he ended up being a big hit. People have talked to him in ages, so he was a huge topic of conversation. He was totally engaged all evening, and was like the most popular person at the party. :)

I hadn't seen Eddie for awhile, myself, so it was nice to spend some time with the guy. Although I didn't get that much time with him, since he was off entertaining everyone with his antics and stories and catching up.

There was, once again, a present exchange. I brought a naughty bunny board game and a white trash card game. I should have opted for my own present, or the sega game system. Instead, I got insanely possessive of a hello kitty milk shake maker. I really wanted it (it also came with a Spice Girls Video, but I wasn't overly ecstatic with this part of the gift), and ended up getting it. Sad to say, I haven't used it since. It's still in its box, and I don't know what to do with it. I never make milk shakes. Maybe I will soon....maybe....or maybe I'll watch the Spice Girls video. Yeah...

Christmas Time in San Francisco

I finally got Diego to take a weekend with me. Well, he said that we could spend three or four of more days up there, but he found out he couldn't take off any more time from work. He had to take some recent sick days, and his boss was being a stickler about coming to work every day for the end of the year.

We stayed with Jennifer at Robert's house. He's got a really nice place, but we slept on a pull out bed. My grandma has a pull out bed, and it's actually quite comfortable. I spent half my childhood sleeping on that thing. Robert's pull out, however, was not comfortable. It was like the anti-christ of comfortable. It was the antithesis of comfortable. In short, it was not comfortable. We had a bar in our back for the entire period of time we spent on this contraption of torture. I barely got any sleep, because I kept tossing and turning and trying to find a comfortable position (to no avail).

We met up with Stephanie and walked around Haight. After spending four years in the Bay Area, I had never been over there. I've also never been to Alcatraz. Go figure. Diego bought some tattoo shop t-shirts for himself, along with some graphic shirts. He also bought me a huge koge-pan doll. We were at Giant Robot, and I really liked it. Before I knew it, he was bringing it over to me. :) I didn't like carrying it around the city, though.

Later on in the evening, we split ways. Diego and I went to Pier 39 for awhile and Stephanie went home. We all went to Fisherman's Wharf though and had clam chowder, crab, and fish and chips.

We all met up at Union Square and went to see the Macy's Christmas tree. Stephanie also took us up this glass elevator. I forgot what the hotel was called, but it's the one in the square facing the tree. It was really nice, but I found out that Diego is scared of heights. I didn't know that before, and he got sick in the elevator. He didn't even look at the view, but stood by the doors looking the other way. When the ride was finished, Diego went to the bathroom. While we waited for him, Stephanie and I went up two more times. The second two times were better, because we were the only ones in the elevator and the lights turned out and everything. It was a great view.

The next day, we had dim sum in the city with Paul, Jennifer, Robert, and some other people. We saw Paul's old apartment, and then Diego and I walked around Berkeley before we left. I sort of gave him a little tour of the school.

Before we left, we ate at IB Hoagies. I also ordered food from Thail Basil, Gypsy's, and Naan 'N Curry to take back home. That was actually quite a production, because we had to split up to wait for and collect all the food.
